1. Avoid manual tasks when wearing your jewelry. It is a good practice to remove your jewelry when performing manual tasks. It is possible that while housekeeping, cooking or gardening your favorite pieces may be damaged while any contact with chemicals or other cleaning products is not advisable as well.
2. Wear your jewelry upon completion of your makeup.Cosmetics, fragrances and lotions contain chemicals known to harm jewelry, thus it is advisable that you wear your jewelry after the application of such substances in order to minimize the exposure.
3. Do not wear your jewelry in the pool, sea or at the spa. It is advisable that you remove all jewelry prior to going into/entering chlorinated water/the sea/a spa as it is likely that the metals of your jewels will react and lead to discoloration or other damage to the jewel.
4. Do not wear your jewelry when doing sports. In order to ensure that your jewelry remains undamaged remove them prior to exercising.
5. Do not use hand creams or soap your hands when wearing rings. Hand creams and soap may penetrate the gems/gemstones of your jewels, being porous rocks, leading to them being dull. Such damage is permanent in most cases. The same applies for hand sanitizers which could potentially discolor your jewels.
6. Ensure that your jewelry is appropriately stored in order to keep them safe and organized. It is advisable that you store your jewels in jewelry boxes that features individually padded slots for rings and posts for hanging necklaces and bracelets. Placing al jewelry in the same box should be avoided as friction may lead to damages.
